December Informal Reports

Written By: andrewsa - Dec• 03•21

Dear Parents/Guardians of Division 5,

Over the last few weeks we have been working on preparing the students individual blogfolios and informal reports.  We have been learning how to work through all the bumps along the way and we are continuing to do this.  These are a work in progress and my goal moving forward this year, is to try and post a couple of assignments/activities each month on each students blogfolio.  The blogfolios are a sample of some of the assignments and activities that the students work on in class.  The blogfolios will be ready for viewing this Friday, December 3rd.

Please take time with your child to read over all of my comments.  You will find my comments on the following 3 posts:

  • I Am an Author: Grade 4 Term
  • I am a Mathematician: Grade 4 Term 1
  • I am a Reader: Grade 4 Term 1

I am asking that you read over the Student Engagement, Behaviour and Social Development: Student and Teacher Reflection Sheet.    The students took time to think about how they are doing with their effort this term.  I had a conversation with each student and together we came up with 2 goals to work on, in the upcoming months.  I am sending a paper copy of this home as well tomorrow.  Please read all the postings  and leave a comment if you wish.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Student Led Conferences: Blogfolios

Written By: andrewsa - May• 21•21

Dear Parents/Guardians of Division 4,

It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of the school year.  While this year has been a year like no other, I am grateful for having had the opportunity to work with your child so far this year.  Each child has grown in their own unique way and should be proud of their learning journey.  As we cannot have student-led conferences in our usual way this year, I am encouraging you to spend time with your child looking at their blogfolio.  Your child has been busy posting some of the things we have been working on this term.  We will continue to post items on the blogfolios until the end of the year.  Encourage your child to talk about the post and give details about the assignment.    Please read all the postings and leave a comment on some of the posts to indicate that you have read over the blogfolios.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is truly a team effort and I appreciate all that you are doing at home to support your child.

Thanks,

Aristea Andrews

March Progress Reports

Written By: andrewsa - Mar• 12•21

Dear Parents/Guardians of Division 4,

Your child will be bringing their March Progress Report on Friday March 12th .

In the report you will see a term overview giving information on what was covered in each subject this term. Your child will receive a proficiency in each subject. There is information about the proficiency scale on the back of the report. There will also be written comments about your child’s strengths and areas they are working on. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s report, please email me or indicate that you would like to meet with me on the report card envelope.

Please sign the front of the report card envelope under “First Report” and send it back to school the first week back after Spring Break. The envelope should be sent back empty, as its contents are for you to keep.

Have a great spring break!
