Welcome to Division 2\u2019s class website. Here you can learn about our weekly schedule, term plans, and electronic copies of classroom notices (although daily homework will be communicated through student agendas, which parents are requested to read and sign). I will update the website throughout the school year to share information on both upcoming and past activities.<\/p>\n

My name is Mairi Anderson, and I will be teaching Division 2 this year! I am new to Glenwood Elementary School and this is my second year of teaching in Burnaby. I have worked in after school care programming, and writing and arts-based day-camps, and have taught Music, ELL, and French language support.<\/p>\n

My extended family in the Tonquin Valley<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This summer, I hiked with friends along the Juan de Fuca trail, bike toured Salt Spring Island, and joined my extended family for three days of hiking in the Tonquin Valley near Jasper, Alberta. I love hiking, biking and art. I believe that it is important to have a strong sense of place and appreciation for the land we live on (and so I love that Glenwood practices West Coast Recess!), as well as experiential learning.<\/p>\n

I look forward to working together with you throughout the school year to help your child excel. You may contact me by email at mairi.anderson@burnabyschools.ca; I will do my best to respond to parent emails within one day. In urgent cases, I can be reached through the school office at 604-296-9015. I will be available to meet after school (3:15-4:00pm) on Tuesdays and Thursdays or by appointment. I welcome any comments you may have. Scheduling information (for Music, Library, Gym and Computers) will be confirmed in the coming week.<\/p>\n

I am confident that the 2019-2020 school year will be a successful and happy one for everyone! I am looking forward to what\u2019s ahead.<\/p>\n
