Dr. Evan Adams<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Evan Adams\u00a0is well known in the Aboriginal communities and is a\u00a0member of the Tla’amin (Sliammon) First Nation, near Powell River, British Columbia.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0actor\/playwright\/producer turned-physician is best known\u00a0for his role as\u00a0Thomas Builds-The-Fire in the film Smoke Signals<\/em> (1988),\u00a0as Seymour Polatkin in The Business of Fancydancing<\/em> (2002) and his part in Lost in the Barrens<\/em> (1990). His acting career also includes roles in television including\u00a0The Beachcombers, Da Vinci’s Inquest, Neon Rider, These Arms of Mine, Da Vinci’s City Hall, The L Word <\/em>and Wolf Canyon.<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition to his impressive acting career, he is\u00a0an accomplished medical doctor and currently\u00a0the Chief Medical Officer with the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). He is a graduate of St. Michael’s University School and of Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific. He received his Medical Doctorate from the University of Calgary in 2002.<\/p>\n
