I hope you are staying sunny even though the skies are cloudy!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/files\/2020\/04\/Weekly-Assignments-Chart-April-20-25-1.docx\">Weekly Assignments Chart &#8211; April 20-25<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>I am looking forward to seeing you (from a socially-responsible distance) during your scheduled pick-up appointments this week.\u00a0 If the time I emailed to parents does not work, please let me know and we can arrange another time.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For pick-ups, please come to the North-side door where you line up in the mornings, coming from the parking lot side.\u00a0 I will have your belongings on a desk just outside the door, and will be there to say &#8220;hello!&#8221;\u00a0 When you leave, I will ask that you go down the steps and in front of the school.\u00a0 This way, we will have only one-way traffic, to reduce the risk of passing others.\u00a0 Your appointments are scheduled at 15-minute intervals to give a bit of time between each.<\/p>\n<p>I will have your belongings (binders, pencil cases, etc) and a packet of school work for the coming weeks.\u00a0 It may seem like a lot all at once, but it is not meant to be done all at once!\u00a0 I will provide prompts and lessons through our blog, and continue to post assignments that can be done online.\u00a0 The paper work will be used to support other lessons, and give you the chance to do school work without being on the computer all day (I know that I am getting tired of sitting at a computer, and I imagine you might be too)!<\/p>\n<p>Due to scheduling and learning how to properly use video calls,<strong> I will have to cancel our Class Meeting for today.<\/strong>\u00a0 I will try my best to have one set up for Wednesday at 11:00 am.\u00a0 My apologies too all of you.<\/p>\n<p>I have made a special order for a book called <em>Front Desk<\/em> by Kelly Yang, which I would like to do as a read-aloud novel study with you! (This is a TRUE story!)<\/p>\n<p>MATH 3.4 &#8211; Set up your account on Prodigy.\u00a0 Make sure to record your password! <a href=\"http:\/\/file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/e20652\/Downloads\/prodigy-students-instructions-0A3468-1587342491.pdf\">Prodigy account instructions<\/a>.\u00a0 Try out the game and let Ms. Anderson know what you think by sending her an email.<\/p>\n<p>MATH 3.5 &#8211; Practice one of the suggested multiplication or division skills on IXL.com.\u00a0 Ms. Anderson has highlighted specific skills to practice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LITERACY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>LITERACY 3.1* &#8211; Write a journal entry (on a piece of paper, in a journal\/diary, or type directly into your blogfolio) about your thoughts and experiences over the past week.\u00a0 We are living in historic times!\u00a0 Write what you think is important for future generations to know about your life at this time.\u00a0 Aim to write at least 5 sentences, remembering proper punctuation. *required\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>LITERACY 3.2* &#8211;\u00a0In the video posted to the class website called \u201cKelly Yang talking about FRONT DESK\u201d, she says that \u201cliving is essential to writing.\u201d What experiences in your life do you think you could write about, as an author?\u00a0 Write your answer to this question in one or more paragraphs.\u00a0 *required<\/em><\/p>\n<p>LITERACY 3.3 &#8211; Activate your Epic Reading account if you have not yet done so (invitations sent to student emails).\u00a0 Read or listen to a book of choice for at least 20 minutes. \u00a0(Ms. Anderson can see how long you read for, and how many books you are reading.. like a spy \ud83d\ude0a)<\/p>\n<p>LITERACY 3.4 &#8211; Read a newspaper or magazine article or a book for 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>LITERACY 3.5 &#8211; Watch the ASL Storytelling video, and follow along as you are able: ASL Storytelling \u2013 Always in Trouble: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ubwi1kGF6mw&amp;t=123s\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ubwi1kGF6mw&amp;t=123s<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL EDUCATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PHYS ED 3.1 &#8211; Remember the equipment you found around your house for PHYS ED 1.4?\u00a0 Make use of it!\u00a0 Play traditional games or make up your own.<\/p>\n<p>PHYS ED 3.2 &#8211; Bird Watch: find a spot outside, sit quietly and see what you can find, if you have binoculars bring them along. What kinds of birds did you find?<\/p>\n<p>PHYS ED 3.3 &#8211; Do 15 sit ups. Hop on one foot for 20 seconds; repeat with the other foot. Do 10 push ups (you can use your knees, if needed). Repeat all after a short break.<\/p>\n<p>PHYS ED 3.4 &#8211; V-Sit for 20 seconds. Hold a plank for 20 seconds. Hold a bridge pose for 20 seconds. Repeat all after a short break<\/p>\n<p>PHYS ED 3.5 &#8211; Play a game of soccer with your sibling(s) or parent(s).<\/p>\n<p><strong>SOCIAL STUDIES\/SCIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>SCIENCE 3.1* &#8211; <\/em><em>Read <u>The Rock Cycle<\/u> by Martha London on Epic.\u00a0 It has been assigned to your reading log. <\/em><em>(Let Ms. Anderson know if you have trouble) <\/em><em>*required<\/em><\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE 3.1 &#8211; Write out a glossary of key vocabulary words from <u>The Rock Cycle<\/u> book.\u00a0 Include key word and find their definitions. (You may copy from the glossary at the back of the book).<\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE 3.2 -Write a short paragraph using as many key vocabulary words from <u>The Rock Cycle<\/u> as you can.<\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE 3.4 &#8211; Go on a walk and look for small interesting rocks that you could (safely) take home to study.\u00a0 What do you notice?\u00a0 What colours and shapes do you see?\u00a0 Any guesses on what <em>type<\/em> of rocks you find?<\/p>\n<p>SCIENCE 3.5 &#8211; Answer this question: what causes rocks to change? Write your answer on paper or in your blogfolio<\/p>\n<p><strong>PERSONAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>RESPONSIBILITY 3.1* &#8211; <\/em><em>Pick up your belongings and work booklet from Ms. Anderson at school.\u00a0 If you can\u2019t make it, please send an email to let her know and make alternative plans. <\/em><em>*required<\/em><\/p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITY 3.2 &#8211; Play a board game or make a puzzle with your family.<\/p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITY: 3.3 &#8211; Make a survey in Forms on Office 365 about others\u2019 interests.\u00a0 Share this form with Ms. Anderson so she can share it with others. When you share it with her, use the option at the right side called Share &gt; Share to Collaborate &gt; Copy<\/p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITY 3.4 &#8211; Help your family with chores.<\/p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITY 3.5 &#8211; Write a thank you note to someone you appreciate.\u00a0 It may be for something small or for something bigger.\u00a0 It may be for your family, your friend, or your neighbour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ART\/ADST<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ART 3.1- Make a blind contour drawing of your face or a family member\u2019s.\u00a0 Colour it in with pencil crayon, watercolour paint, or marker.\u00a0 See Ms. Anderson\u2019s for an example.<\/p>\n<p>These are some silly<strong> blind contour drawings<\/strong> that I did of my friends while on a video call with them.\u00a0 After, I added colour with watercolour paints.\u00a0 This is an example for ART 3.1.
