{"id":33,"date":"2019-09-28T00:25:52","date_gmt":"2019-09-28T00:25:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/?p=33"},"modified":"2019-10-22T00:01:49","modified_gmt":"2019-10-22T00:01:49","slug":"september-23-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/2019\/09\/28\/september-23-27\/","title":{"rendered":"September 23-27"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Another full and exciting week!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-34 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/files\/2019\/09\/image-1-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"249\" height=\"186\" \/>This week we worked on<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0setting our Strength and Challenge goals for Term 1.\u00a0 We are planning to build on our strengths and interests, in addition to the skills that we need more support in.\u00a0 Our goals are now hanging as leaves to help us &#8220;branch out&#8221; in our classroom.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We explored our likes and dislikes in French, including our favourite colours and activities.<\/p>\n<p>We continued pattern work in Math, beginning to use expressions to explain pattern rules.<\/p>\n<p>We began our study of Canada by looking at maps of North America and Canada.\u00a0 We will be studying political systems and mapping, and so created our own invented lands to parallel our understanding of the country we live in.\u00a0 We also delved deep into discussion on decision-making models (ie: autocratic, democratic, or consensus).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-37 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/files\/2019\/09\/E1AE3F3A-6A6C-4E6D-89BB-553E98A813B8-300x224.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"257\" height=\"192\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Today, we\u00a0spent some time outside to do some forest research.\u00a0 We each had to find something in nature that matched a unique paint swatch colour, reflected on the sounds we heard outside, and spent some time working on observational drawing.\u00a0 I am excited to see how we can grow i<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">n our observational skills as scientists with more practice this year!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-38 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/files\/2019\/09\/6760F094-E32C-496E-B88A-8DF8C1281BAA-300x224.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"252\" height=\"188\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next Monday is Orange Shirt Day.\u00a0 This date is held to recognize the harm\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">done to children through the residential school system.\u00a0 This is a heavy and important matter, and one that you may wish to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">discuss further at home.\u00a0 If you are looking for more information about Orange Shirt Day, or on residential schools, please see some of the following websites:\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>http:\/\/www.orangeshirtday.org\/<\/li>\n<li>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ll1pUrK29MM&amp;feature=youtu.be<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/wherearethechildren.ca\/en\/<\/li>\n<li>https:\/\/bctf.ca\/GladysWeNeverKnew\/<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thanks for another fun week, Division 2!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another full and exciting week!
