We also practiced short conversations on emotions.&nbsp; Division 2 is improving in pronunciation and language connections!<\/p>\n<p>We prepared for a multiplication test in Math by creating our own questions.&nbsp; Students each came up with four questions: a two-digit multiplication problem, a three-digit problem, a word problem, and an equation with an intentional mistake.&nbsp; I used all of their questions to create the practice test and sample questions, as well as Friday&#8217;s test.&nbsp; The class worked very hard on Friday morning!<\/p>\n<p>In Science, we are exploring all six simple machines.&nbsp; Mrs. Lee noted that the opening scene of Frozen shows all but one of the six.&nbsp; Can you figure out which? \ud83d\ude42&nbsp; We will be designing and prototyping inventions inspired by Rube Goldberg machines over the next few weeks.&nbsp; Check out this video to see a ridiculous example:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Page Turner | Rube Goldberg | Joseph&#039;s Machines\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GOMIBdM6N7Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We are talking a lot about kindness at Glenwood these days.&nbsp; As it is kindness month, and<strong> Pink Shirt Day is next Wednesday<\/strong>, we spent some time on Wednesday afternoon creating &#8220;kindness posters&#8221; much like tearaway advertisements, to inspire one another to perform random acts of kindness.&nbsp; Empathy and respect have been important themes for us to revisit throughout the year.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the class let me know that they really, truly love movement, and that they need more body breaks <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-214 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/files\/2020\/02\/66F616D1-E956-4CBC-A884-8DCDE460D2E4-300x224.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\">throughout the day.&nbsp; So, this week we started having a few dance breaks when necessary.&nbsp; It is so fun to see the classdancing along to Just Dance videos&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Tuesday<\/strong> will be a busy one at Glenwood.&nbsp; Intermediate students will have the chance to hear from prolific Canadian <strong>author Eric Walters<\/strong> in the morning, and in the afternoon, will learn about local watersheds through <strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-213 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/files\/2020\/02\/3C8E5448-83E3-40B3-A055-8304B574B88B-277x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"300\">Stream of Dreams!<\/strong>&nbsp; If you are interested in ordering any of Eric Walters&#8217;s books for purchase, please see the notice that went home.&nbsp; Thank you in advance to all of the parent volunteers who will be helping with the <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-212 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/files\/2020\/02\/BB0C0FDE-334C-4081-8154-95676730977F-300x224.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\">fish&nbsp;painting and installation for the Stream of Dreams.&nbsp; In Art, we started dreaming up the fish designs we might want to paint on Tuesday.&nbsp; Division 2 created beautiful colour palettes in oil pastel in salmon outlines.&nbsp; I am very excited to see what the whole school paints next week!<\/p>\n<p>The gloriously sunny days made for a very fun Take Me Outside time in the forest on Friday afternoon.&nbsp; We played three rounds of &#8220;Camouflage&#8221; and one short game of &#8220;Touch the Tree&#8221; (Kick the Can by another name).&nbsp; I love how enthusiastic the class is to spend time outdoors!<\/p>\n<p>There will be a district-wide <strong>Pro-D day next Friday<\/strong>, which means no school for students.&nbsp; I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.&nbsp; See you on Monday, Division 2!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello!
