{"id":119,"date":"2019-11-22T23:31:06","date_gmt":"2019-11-22T23:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/?p=119"},"modified":"2020-04-01T21:40:17","modified_gmt":"2020-04-01T21:40:17","slug":"november-18-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/2019\/11\/22\/november-18-21\/","title":{"rendered":"November 18-21"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week, we practiced many <strong>skills<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>In French, we practiced <strong>pronouncing<\/strong> French letters and letter sounds, spelling out our vocabulary words to one another.<\/p>\n<p>In Math, we tried out an Esti-Mystery challenge, to review <strong>skip counting\/multiples<\/strong>, and our <strong>estimation<\/strong> skills.&nbsp; We practiced <strong>rounding numbers<\/strong> to the nearest tens, hundreds, thousands, and ten thousands, and made great efforts with some more challenging tasks from the Math Makes Sense textbooks.<\/p>\n<p>In Writer&#8217;s Workshop, we were fortunate to have Ms. James guide us through a writing exercise on descriptive writing of setting.&nbsp; We practiced by <strong>describing<\/strong> the sights, sounds and feelings of our bedrooms or ideal rooms, and then were challenged to write delightfully descriptive paragraphs about the settings in our stories.<\/p>\n<p>We<strong> researched<\/strong> the provinces, territories and capital cities of Canada in Social Studies.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In our Restorative Justice circle, we learned about conflict management styles.&nbsp; It is important to be aware how we tend to respond to conflict, so that we can recognize what might need to be done in different situations.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-121 size-medium alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/files\/2019\/11\/DD602A1B-37A0-4CFF-A95D-9461BDD5BB65-e1574464550307-224x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\"><\/p>\n<p>In Art, we made a magnificent mess <strong>painting<\/strong> our collaborative landscape murals on large pieces of fabric!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I hope you all enjoyed the Pro-D day today!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-120\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/andersonm\/files\/2019\/11\/2A8B3C15-E4DE-42E5-96D9-81F58B01BE1B-300x224.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"291\" height=\"217\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week, we practiced many skills: In French, we practiced pronouncing French letters and letter sounds, spelling out our vocabulary words to one another.
