In Math, we are learning about sorting objects- to group things by a certain attribute like colour, item, or shape. We have extended our learning to sorting alphabet letters during Literacy Centres. Students practised sorting by letter, naming them, and saying the sound it makes.

As you may have heard, Division 16 is lucky to have one of Santa’s helpers visiting our class this month. We have named him Elfabet and he is enjoying watching us learn and play.  

Earlier this week, we sorted, counted, and graphed colourful goldfish crackers. Each student received a pile of goldfish crackers and had to apply some Math skills before gobbling them down. Extension at home: Find food items at home that you can sort, count, and graph before eating.
