Community Helpers
Division 16 is learning about community helpers and places.
People who work to help others in their community are called community helpers.
As a class, we brainstormed some community helpers:
Teachers, cooks, mechanics, construction workers, doctors, firefighter, paramedics, nurses, grocers, coaches, engineers, police officers, mail carriers, and boat drivers.
Next week is our Career Week. Parents are welcome to come into the classroom to teach the class a bit about your job. We do need more speakers!
On our community walk, we saw many places in our community. These included: Clinton Elementary School, Burnaby South Secondary School, gas station, nail salon, 7 Eleven, Buy Low Foods, houses, apartments, restaurants, and daycares.

Discuss with your child what they would like to do when they grow up. What skills and tools do they need for that job?
Take another community walk/drive. What other places can you find that belong to our community?
