Dear Division 4 Students and Families,
I hope you all are doing well. Like everyone, I have been practicing social distancing. As a result, I feel fine and rested.
I know Spring Break has probably gone differently than you had planned, but hopefully, you were still able to go out for walks/exercise and to get some fresh air.
As you know, in order to maintain physical distancing, all BC schools are trying to transition to online learning. I will be phoning and contacting all Division 4 families on either Thursday or Friday to see how you are doing and how our school can help you with this transition.
The Burnaby School Board has plans to set up a Continuing Learning Website sometime this week. This will be another tool to support both you and your parents with your learning.
I will also continue to use this blog and/or our Class Teams (0365-19_BWong) to relay any information, assignments and to give support.
For now, please take the time to think about how you can plan your online school days to be successful once the transition begins. Please consider the following questions:
- What time(s) is best for me to focus on learning?
- Where can I work in my home?
- When can I have access to a laptop or an iPad that is connected to the internet?
- Will I need to share these devices with my family members?
- What kind of brain breaks can I incorporate into my routine? (e.g., go for a walk, do some sketching) so I feel ready to learn.
Please remember everyone that this all new and we are in this together!
Take care and stay safe!
Ms. Wong
