ย Dear Families,

Had I known it would be a long time before I saw you again I would have said meaningful parting words, instead I wished you all well and said I would see you after the break. In no time everything changed. If you were like me you were suddenly taking stock of your necessities and telling the kids not to waste the maple syrup as they poured it on their pancakes! Yes, I guiltily made daily hot breakfasts, cakes and cookies for my kids. Clearly overcompensating for a Spring Break that would not include friends, movies or their favorite activities. It also kept my mind off of the Pandemic. A little healthy distraction is okay! Maybe you were feeling a surge of energy (if you were well) and set out to keep the kids entertained and happy at home. If you have that figured out please share what is working for you! Maybe you have some tips that can be included in my Blog. Or maybe you froze, and the uncertainty that unfolded kept you from being able to focus on reading to your children, making cookies from scratch or doing the laundry. If you are feeling that kind of chill, then maybe you need some self-care. Playful low-fuss activities may be in order. Speaking of self-care, have you tried whipped coffee? Itโ€™s easy to make, REALLY easy. See Recipe below. I may never buy a coffee again! We are all doing our best in a situation that requires us to sacrifice the familiar so we can protect ourselves, our friends and loved ones. The sacrifice may be big, too big to carry alone.ย  We may be apart but we can still do it together! I invite you to follow me here. Letโ€™s remember the fun we had, and make some new memories too.

WHIPPED COFFEE RECIPE

Servings(1)

Ingredients include:

Instant Coffee Powder

Hot Water

Sugar

Warm milk or Cream

Step 1. Add one tablespoon of each ingredients to a mixing bowl and whisk for a 2 minutes.

Step 2. Serve

The mixture will become thicker and will eventually appear lighter in color. You know you’ve finished when it forms peaks on the whisk. Enjoy coffee black, over warm milk, or with a splash of cream.

ENJOY! xox

WINDSOR FAMILY DROP-INย  APRIL 15th 2020

Greetings from the Mice

Our classroom mice are happily munching on soft fruits and veggies. While their tummies are full, their hearts are heavy. They miss getting wrapped up in colorful blankets and being scooped up in the little hands that bring them to our gathering time on the carpet. One of their favorite mice-y rhymes is “Slowly, Slowly very Slowly” because the mice get to run home fast while the snails creep slowly, very slowly and no one knows if the snails ever get home. They may still be on the garden rail for all we know!

Let’s Sing that favorite Rhyme together.
