{"id":9438,"date":"2019-10-01T22:11:08","date_gmt":"2019-10-02T05:11:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/watts\/?p=9438"},"modified":"2019-10-05T22:15:45","modified_gmt":"2019-10-06T05:15:45","slug":"orange-shirt-day-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/watts\/orange-shirt-day-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Orange Shirt Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Orange Shirt Day is an event that started in 2013.<br \/>\nIt was designed to educate people and promote awareness about the Indian residential school system and the impact this system had on Indigenous communities for more than a century in Canada.<br \/>\nThe date was chosen because it is the time of year in which children were taken from their homes to residential schools.<br \/>\nDivision 8 students participated in Orange Shirt Day in a couple different ways today.
