Learning opportunities for April 27th to May 1st

Can you believe it Division 5?  We are in our fourth week of online learning and everyone IS learning so much.  We have learned to upload our work, use online Notebooks, and share photos on TEAMS.   We are also sending our positive vibes out into the community with our artwork and inspirational messages.  We have a lot to be proud of!

This Monday, we will be participating in on-line Pro-D opportunities, but we wanted you to be able to follow your regular routine.  All of your work is uploaded and ready for you on TEAMS.  You will notice the novel study has been added to the schedule for this week and we are very excited to get that going.  Also, just to help you orient yourselves, we are on Week 27 of DOL and our third journal entry. Have a great Monday and we look forward to chatting with you all again on Tuesday!

Our letters are on their way!

Your children have written letters to various authors and spent a great deal of time editing them.  They all wanted to show their very best writing to their literary idols.  Some of the authors we are attempting to contact are: J.K Rowling, Geronimo Stilton, and Robert Munsch, just to name a few.

Many students wanted their replies sent to their home addresses.  Please be on the lookout for these in the coming weeks and months.  Fingers crossed that we get a few letters back!

The Circus has come to Buckingham!

We have enjoyed this amazing week with our Circus expert!  We have been juggling and balancing with all sorts of Circus props.  Thank-you to our wonderful PAC for funding these unique learning opportunities for us all.

Happy Holidays!

Thank-you for making all of our December events so successful!  All of our undertakings would not have been possible without parental support.  From our concert, to our craft morning, to our pancake breakfast, and our trip to Burnaby Village – all were made possible with your help.

We wish you all a restful, memorable Winter Break and we look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces back at school in January.

October Festivities

The last week of October finished up with lots of fun inside our classroom and around the school.  We picked pumpkins from our school ground patch, enjoyed dressing up for Halloween, and wrapped up the month with some pointillism-inspired fall trees.  What a week!  Thank-you for supporting all of our activities.

Kindergarten Buddies

We are so happy to be working with Ms. Rosen’s and Ms. Engst’s Kindergarten class this year for Buddies!  On our first session together, we worked with life-size, hula-hoop Venn Diagrams to get to know each other better. We sorted our similarities and differences and started some rich conversations.  The students learn leadership and empathy from these interactions with their younger peers.  Truly time well spent!
