Today we began chapter 17 on Ethics and discussed some challenging ethical questions. Tomorrow we will tackle ethical questions related to the hospitality industry.
We also had our chapter 16 quiz today.
**Important** Your final exam has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 25th. It is extremely important that you attend this exam on this date as rewrites will not be possible until the end of the school year. Please check your calendars and notify me ASAP if you have any known conflicts.
Today we completed chapter 16 on franchises, and watched videos and the history of franchising as well as the story of Ray Kroc (of McDonalds). We also did the quiz for chapter 15.
Homework is the chapter 16 questions #1-9 on page 466.
This week’s assessment days: I handed out progress reports with missing work highlighted. If you had a few highlighted items, you must attend at least one of the days this week. The schedule is: tomorrow (Tuesday, Jan21) from 10:15-12:30pm and Thursday, Jan23 from 12:30-3:30pm.
Information night volunteers- If you volunteered to join us for the Ace-IT/Youth Training in Trades info night at Burnaby Central, please arrive by 6pm in the commons. Today we completed chapter 15 on management companies. We also did the chapter 14 quiz and observed/discussed some of the best advertisements of all time. Homework is pg. 443 #1-9 and there will be a ch15 quiz on Monday.
Reminder: For next week, numeracy assessments will be taking place from Tuesday through Friday. Classes as usual on Monday.

Today we progressed through chapter 14. I postponed the chapter 13 quiz to tomorrow.
Today we finished chapter 13 on Human Resources and performed a skill testing activity regarding banquet table setting. Homework is pg. 387-388 #1-9 and there will be the usual chapter quiz next class.
We also began chapter 14 on Marketing.
Today we had our chapter 12 quiz and I collected missing work. We are now almost done chapter 13. There is no additional homework for next class.

You do not have any new homework as we worked through the end of chapter 12 last day and time was given to complete the chapter questions. If you have not yet completed them, please finish them over the break: pg.358-359 #1-10. There will be a quiz after the break on this chapter.
Also, there are many students who have not completed their Foundations of Workplace Safety Certificate from term 1. You need this for your work experience, so please take some time to complete this over Winter break. You will probably have to re-register on go2hr.ca as your enrollment will have expired by now. Once you have completed it, please email me the certificate so that I can print it and put it in your work experience file.
Today we had our chapter 11 quiz and the homework questions were collected. We continued on with chapter 12 and began our review for the chapter 8-11 test happening next Thursday, Dec. 19. There was a word search with definitions, so if you missed the class, please make sure to get one next day.
Next class (Monday, Dec.16)– our class Christmas event! Please don’t forget to bring what you signed up for and if you didn’t bring your secret Santa gift yet, please don’t forget (because how sad would that be ;(
