Young Entrepreneurs :considering your success (Part A)

1.What did you enjoy?

I enjoyed selling and making my product and also liked seeing people happy when they figured they could draw anything they want on the stress balloon with Sharpies, they also got surprised when I told them there was slime inside and a lot of them said that they were going to pop the balloon to play with the slime.

2.What did you learn?

What I learned that starting a business could take a long time to form and that it can be a very boring process when no one would come to your table.

3.What was one problem you had? How did you overcome it?

The one problem I had was balloons popping and how I overcame it was by not letting anyone at home to touch them because I feared it would pop.

young entrepreneurs : considering your success (part a)

1. what did you enjoy?

I really enjoyed talking to costumers about the process of making my product. when costumers asked questions it made me happy because that meant they wanted to know information about my company.

2. what did you learn?

I learned that the more different your product is the more you will sell. For people who did stress ball it was hard since there were over 10 people doing stress balls. I also learned that the way you present yourself also plays a part, because if you’re frowning at your stand you look less approachable, but if you are smiling people will be more comfortable to go up to your stand.

3. what was one problem you had? how did you over come it?

I did slime and there was another girl also doings slime spreading negative things about my product, which made it harder to sell since I had no costumers. All I did was stay positive, I eventually sold out because during the fair when people came to my stand I would explain my product.

Young Entrepreneurs :Evaluating your product(Part B)

1.Begin by telling us your business name and slogan.

I chose the name “EMO BALLS” because I couldn’t pick a name between “Emoji” or “Emotion”.

Here is my link for the image for my young entrepreneurs.

2.How do you feel about the product you selected for your business?

I fell moderate but at the same time I feel like I should have made something else that will be handy for people.

3.What are some tips that you could use to select a product to sell in the future?

To pick something that is popular at that time and make sure that no one would copy me like this time almost half of the gym made stress balls, and that in the future I make the table I’ll stay at way more attractive and also not stick by a corner. I would move the table to somewhere I would think would have a lot of customers because of there product.

Looking Back

Part A: Considering your success.

  • what did you enjoy

I enjoyed seeing all of the other products
and when people buy my product.

  • What did you learn

I learned that next time if we do the market research fair,I should have a sample product therefore people could ” test” or squeeze the stress ball. Furthermore next time I do this project( that’s if I choose stress balls) I should have quantity over quality.

  • What was one problem you had?How did you overcome it?

One problem I had was when people squeezed the weaker stress balls with the fishnet, the fishnet got stretched so I grabbed the tip of the balloon and slide it through the hole of the fishnet so it got stronger on all sides. Another problem I had was when a bunch of little kids came running to my table and started to squeeze all of the stress balls, some got really weak and one popped because they poked the part that popped out.I overcame that problem by adding a sign saying” Please ask if you want to touch” and most kids listened.

PART A:
What did I enjoy? I enjoyed people asking me how i made my product, I enjoyed making my product, I enjoyed it when people said it was cool, and i enjoyed telling people the process of making my product.
What did I learn? I learned how to start my own business, I learned that it’s ‘first come, first serve’ because if someone says that they will see if they will buy it, chances are they are going to find something slightly cheaper and buy that instead of your $5.00 product v.s a $1.50 product.
What was one problem I had? I had a problem with how much it costed to make my product but all i had to do was raise the price. The problem with that was, i had the most expensive product in the gym. But i broke even so i was ok with that.

PART B:
How do you feel about the product you selected for your business? I felt like it sold well & that people liked it and thought my product was cool.
What are some tips that you could use to select a product to sell in the future? Add a picture to the paintings with less detail and colour.

PART C:

What organization did you choose to support? I chose B.C. Children’s hospital because my cousin has cancer and she goes to B.C. Children’s Hospital.
What does the organization do? B.C. Children’s Hospital takes care of sick and injured kids.

We Walk For Water

Every day girls must walk hours to collect clean water.
We’re the generation who can change this.

Twenty awesome grade 7 students in Me to We walked for water on Thursday, May 24th, 2018 during their lunchtime.  Each of them committed to collecting $25 in pledges.  Twenty-five dollars gives one person water for life.

1.I am proud of this because…

I am proud of this because I got to help people that spend long hours walking with water on a day-to-day basis, by raising $25 to get a person water for life. I got a taste of what the children in Sierra Leone, and in other countries on our globe, have to go through every day, in order to get water that is often full of waterborne diseases and other bacteria, sometimes having to miss out on getting an education in order to get water. I am proud that I now have a better understanding of their hardships, and that I am helping them!

2. Something new that I learned and understand better…

Something new that I learned and understand better is that it is one thing to learn about the topic of human suffering in a quiet classroom in relative comfort, and quite another to try and walk in the shoes of the people you are studying about. Participating in the We Walk for Water event made me realize through first-hand experience just how much physical strain and toil is put on the girls who have to fetch water everyday. However, even though walking for water left my back and shoulders sore, I know that the pain I went through is merely a watered down version of what children in Sierra Leone and elsewhere in the world have to go through everyday, as I did not even walk for half-an-hour, and they must walk for many, many hours, and under much harsher, tougher, circumstances.

3. My biggest challenge was…

My biggest challenge was not spilling the water everywhere, which I did end up doing, on account of the water sloshing out of the bucket when I moved, and when I dropped it once when someone made me laugh. It became uncomfortable when some of the water that spilled out of the bucket I held soaked through my shirt.

4. I still have questions and uncertainties about…

My questions are:

  • How do those who have to fetch water for hours each day have the power to go on everyday?
  • Why don’t those who have the funds to help those with not enough water not do so?

Young Entrepreneurs: Part C

1. What organization did you choose to support?

I feel like either donating 10% to Me to We or the BC Children’s Hospital. Me to We because they’re raising money and they donate money to country’s in need and the Children’s Hospital because I just feel like donating money to those kids in need.

2. What does this organization do?

Like I mentioned earlier, Me to We donates to country’s in need and for the hospital, I just feel like helping the kids in need.

3. How do you feel about helping others in this way?

I feel great about helping others. I can’t really explain how I feel, I just feel happy.

Young Entrepreneurs: Part B

1. Begin by telling us your business name and slogan (do you have a pic?)

My business name was called, Calming Glitter Bottles and my slogan was, Goodbye to Anxiety. Here’s a link to my product: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oc67JqgXHxh-LMgZSLTsNaZtBlm4kOlk/view?usp=sharing

2. How do you feel about the product you selected for your business?

I feel about 8/10 because I didn’t sell all of it, so now I feel like I should’ve made stress balls because I make stress balls real nicely, but still, I feel great about my product choice.

3. What are some tips that you could use to select a product to sell in the future?

I think I could’ve at least make my area a bit more eye catching because my friend, Anjuli, her station was pretty bright. So I should’ve put a bit more brighter colours to catch attention.
