That is just on Epic, so many students in Division 10 are doing an amazing job reading on RAZ Kids, LEXIA, HEADSPROUT, Tumble books and your libraries, other sites and books at home. You all are amazing students, parents, families and teachers.

Lessons will be on Teams Tuesday and your choices Board will be sent out at the beginning of the week.

Thank-you

Im also so impressed with the work that you are doing on Teams and in your own homes and families. I hope your Earth Day has been great. It is so easy to appreciate the Earth when Spring is showing up all around us, in blossoms, plants, birds that visit my trees, the wonderful pollinator insects that buzz by and the Springtime weather. It was rainy today and that helps everything grow and stay green here in British Columbia. Some of you posted your wonderful Earth Day pictures on Teams, they were wonderful to see. I have posted a link to a story to listen to called “It’s Earth Day” by Mercer Mayer, on Youtube. You will find it under the “Readers and Writers” menu, in the “Stories” sub-menu. Here is also a link, to a wonderful earth day poem/song. I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening of “Earth day”.

This week we get to celebrate, notice and observe the Earth. This means looking at us humans too because how humans live and use the Earth makes a big difference to how healthy the Earth and all its creatures will be.

The lessons for today will be up shortly on Teams, in the Monday Channel. By the end of the day your Week 2 Choices board will be up in Teams and sent by email, to parents.

When you can, I would like you to log into Teams and checkout the Library Channel. When your finished the activity, please say Thank-you to Ms Carson and type One Word about it (mine is ‘Stars’), right below where your teachers have written by tapping reply.

You will notice a “Question of the Week” in the General Channel. Please answer the question by tapping reply. See you in Teams!

Could You also please check out the Music Channel. Ms Veikle has great music activities for you. Please say hello to Ms Veikle, by tapping reply on her message.

Good Afternoon Everyone! We are at the end of our 1st week of learning together while we are at home. Just like you, Ms Coelho, Ms D and I are getting better and better at learning to use the tools like the Blog, Teams, email and other programs as well as exploring all the things we have at home so we all can continue learning together. Yesterday and this morning, I was exploring my garden and wanted to show you our Daffodils. I went into school last week and picked up our plants and looked at the plants growing in our bins. If you look in our In My Garden you can see how your daffodils look now. Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to look around and notice all the plants and trees that are growing and starting to get their green leaves and blossoms.

Dear Parent(s),

This is Ms Saunders. Ms Engst (for some students) and I were contacting all parents Thursday April 2 and Friday April 3, on the telephone but for some we could not get through. If you would like to have a phone call please email me a time that would be best for you and the preferred phone number.

I am writing/calling and asking How you and your family are doing? Is there anything that you need or would like to ask me? At this time the other teachers and I are checking-in with you and gathering information. Do you and your child have access to an iPad, tablet, or computer, as well as wifi or internet access? If you have questions or would like me to know something, you can always email me, and I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

Ms Coelho, Mrs.D and myself are working hard to develop a platform to support students learning. This is not launched yet but will be in the coming week and continue to develop throughout the weeks ahead. In the mean time, hopefully you have received a letter or email from the district, that explains initial plans for continuing learning and some sources & links to try. I will be keeping in contact and will let you know as soon as our learning platform is ready.

Please know we are thinking of your child and your family.

Best wishes and stay safe.

Ms Saunders
