Division 2

Here is where we will find fun stuff especially for Division Two!  I will try to post homework regularly in case you forget and pictures of stuff we have done in class (once I figure out how to do that! 🙂 )

The wonderful world of homework!!

I will try my best not to give homework on holidays but sometimes on the weekend, it just has to happen – just the way it is.  Remember when you’re done to hand it into my box – don’t wait for a day that I work or it will probably have a reasonable chance of getting lost or forgotten!   Remember also, that both Ms Skuse and I consider ourselves to be reasonable people!  Sometimes “LIFE” just gets in the way, especially when you’re a kid and don’t have as much control (good news!! –  you get more control as you get older!) Sometimes grandmas have a way of showing up unexpectedly, soccer practice runs way too late or you’re simply not feeling well.  If something is due the next day, come and talk to us!  Of course, you can’t use this as an excuse on a regular basis, but sometimes it is necessary.  Most of the time your homework should be completed on time though.  This year your homework should be completed on time and to the best of your ability. If you have questions email me – I have my school account on my phone and can access it pretty quickly.  A simple email can clear up a lot of things and save a lot of stress!  We’re aiming for less stress!! Sept 13

Today we started our space unit.  Don’t forget to memorize the order and spell all of the planets correctly.  There will be a small quiz on Tuesday.

Also please remember to work on your pinwheel art.

And we will start our ” All about me” collages next week so start collecting and bringing stuff that tells us all about you!!

Sept 28 –

Tomorrow is the Terry Fox run AND wear Orange Day!    Bring twoonies for Terry Fox

Don’t forget the math homework which will be due for me on Tuesday.   It is on the top of the homework board.  I believe grade 5’s was numbers 1-5 and grade 6’s 1-7, but double check that!   Grade 6’s if you don’t already have a protractor, it is your job to get one!   You will most definitely need one on Tuesday

We will also FINISH the all about me collages so make sure you have stuff!   I’ll be looking for evidence of your family background, traditions your family might have, things that are important to you and that you have some put some thought into how it is presented and laid out.

Have a fantastic long weekend!

November 1

Okay – I haven’t looked at this in a month!  Whoops!   But I was under the impression that nobody looked at it so I will try harder to keep it updated

Report cards are coming up!  This is an important fact not to stress you out because report cards are simply a “snapshot” of where you are academically in terms of reaching the curriculum goals.

What is coming up…….

  • we are still working on personal narrative writing
  • I want to do more applied skills which I believe you will enjoy
  • we are going to do a bit more “space” stuff then move on the mixtures and substances  (there is a bit of a science fair coming up!)
  • in art, we’re going to finish line and colour and move on to studying an artist – I think we might do Andy Warhol   –  he’s an interesting guy!

I think that is it for now!   Let me know if you have questions or comments!
