Updates for June 19-23

Hi Division 13 Families,

A few updates for next week.

Monday June 19

  • Early Dismissal at 2pm (I’m sorry about any confusion)
  • Water park after recess
    • We will be visiting the splash park next door. If students are wanting to go in the water, please send them with their bathing suit, change of clothes (if needed), a towel, sandals/water shoes, and a plastic bag (for wet bathing suit). They can wear their swim suit to school or change at snack time.

Thursday June 22

  • Water park

Friday June 23

  • Central Park field trip
    • As all students have walking permission trip forms I won’t be sending home a permission form.
    • Please ensure your child has sun screen, appropriate weather attire, water bottle, snack, lunch, and a hat. It is helpful to pack a litterless lunch so that there is less garbage.
    • There is a small splash pad if you would like to send their bathing suit.
    • ** If you said you would be able to attend the walking field trip, could you please send me an email to confirm. I believe we have about 4-5 Parents but I just want to make sure I didn’t miss anyone. Please let me know if you will be walking with us there, walking back, or meeting us there.
    • We will be leaving school around 9:15 and leaving central park around 1:30.

There are a lot of different things happening the next few weeks. I appreciate your patience and I am looking forward to a fun last few weeks before summer break! Please let me know if you have any questions at all.

With Kindness,

Ms. Guagneli

June Newsletter and Play Friday

Hello Division 13 Families,

There are a lot of things happening in the month of June! Please check out the newsletter and calendar to see details for our mini play presentations Friday, Sports Day, and our field trip to central park.

June Newsletter 2023

Our Family reading Friday will be transformed into a small performance. They are very excited to share what they have been working on the last week and a bit. It is a very simple retelling of some fairy tales they have been learning about. We were learning about retelling stories and they wanted to share what they have created with you! Please do not feel you have to attend or stay the whole time as I know this is very last minute.

Ms. Guagneli

April Newsletter (Updated)

Hello Division 13 Families,

I hope you are all enjoying the beginning of spring! I love watching everything grow and change in spring. The Daffodils we planted in the fall have started to pop up! We have just started a new inquiry and we will be researching and learning about insects! We are excited to share our learning with you in May.

We will be going on a walking trip to central park in a few weeks! There will be more information coming soon about that.

I have updated the calendar to include show and share dates. Please have a look so that you know when your child will be sharing. If their name is not on the calendar for this month that means that will be sharing in May.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. The kids have been so sweet and helpful! The surgery went really well, I will have this current cast for another 2 weeks and then a splint again for 3 weeks. So glad to be back in the classroom again!

January Newsletter

Hello Division 13 Families!

Happy New Year, I hope that you were able to enjoy some good family time this holiday season. I know it was not an easy one for everyone, but I am excited to be back in the classroom again.

I fell skiing yesterday and likely tore a ligament in my thumb. Which is why you will see me wearing a splint. I’m hoping it will not be a long recovery but the kids have already been showing a lot of patience and kindness helping me adjust.

There are not really any big events happening this month, just our routine activities. Fun Lunch orders online have been opened again and will close tonight at 7pm.

Reminders for this week!

Hello Division 13 Families,

We have a busy week ahead and I just wanted to share some quick reminders!

Tuesday

  • We have our musical performance tomorrow! Please have your child wear black pants and a black shirt when they come to school. If you sent black clothes to school for tomorrow then they can change here at lunch. Shoe colour does not matter. 😊
  • Our performances are at 1:30pm and 6:30pm. For the evening performance, please bring your child to our classroom door at 6pm.

Wednesday

  • Reports go home.

Thursday

  • Winter accessory day! Students are asked to wear their favourite winter accessories including hats, scarves, and mittens.
  • Our Grade 7 students have a fundraiser and have created a market with handmade items that they will be selling. Items range from .50 cents to $5.00. We will be attending at 1:40 if you would like to send along a $1 or so to support the grade 7’s. They are raising Money for their end of the year trip.

Friday

  • PJ Day and stuffie day! Students are asked to wear Pj’s and bring a stuffie. We will have a movie in the afternoon and our pancake breakfast is at 9:30am.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Ms. Guagneli
