If you have permission, listen and send a picture of your response to me: <a href=\"mailto:catherine.raap@burnabyschools.ca\">catherine.raap@burnabyschools.ca\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Find a quiet space.<\/p>\n<p>Listen to the music actively. What does that mean? <strong>Active listening<\/strong>\u00a0is when you listen to music carefully and give it your full attention.<\/p>\n<p>Collect the sound with your ears and brain. Think about what you are listening to. Allow the music to affect you and respond to it. You can write or draw your response.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to write your name, division and the name of the piece you are responding to.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some questions you could consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What do you hear?<\/li>\n<li>What do you see when you hear this music? Draw the picture that this music paints in your imagination.<\/li>\n<li>What do you think about or feel when you hear this music?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our first listening selection is <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_mVW8tgGY_w\">Fur Elise by Ludwig van Beethoven<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For additional music activities, explore your grade level and the online resources\/links.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each week I will post a YouTube link to a new listening selection.
