I started an online gallery of artwork I have received from your listening responses. If you would NOT like to have yours added, please let me know when you email me. For privacy reasons, I will edit out names and divisions.<\/p>\n Okay, here are the instructions:<\/p>\n Find a quiet space and listen to the music actively. Active<\/strong> listening<\/strong> is when you listen to music carefully and give it your full attention. (Listen to the music more than once).<\/p>\n Collect the sound with your ears and brain. Think about what you are listening to. Allow the music to affect you and respond to it.<\/p>\n Response options:<\/p>\n Take a picture of your response and send it to me. Don\u2019t forget to write your name, division and the name of the piece you are responding to.<\/p>\n Here are some questions you could consider:<\/p>\n This week as some of you are heading back into school, we are listening to a song called \u201cMoist Breath Zone<\/em><\/a>\u201d. This song was written by Shirley Serben, a principal from New Zealand. \u00a0It\u2019s a good health and safety reminder for everyone.<\/p>\n Head over to your grade level tab. There are assignments\/activities for all classes. For additional music activities, explore the online resources\/links. On Sunday<\/b>, May<\/b> 31<\/b>st\u00a0<\/sup>at 2pm<\/b>, there will be a very special broadcast of The Yo-Yo Mo Show<\/a>. <\/strong>It is a musical doodling show with Mo Willems (the author of Elephant and Piggie<\/em>) and Yo-Yo Ma (world-renown cello player). Please note that on the website, it says does 5 pm ET (which is 2 pm\u00a0<\/strong>in the afternoon for us). If you miss it, don\u2019t worry, it will be available on the website after 2pm on Sunday. Don\u2019t forget a sketchbook, sketchpad or scrap paper and your pencil or art supplies. I\u2019d love to see any of your creations from this show. Email it to me or post it in the music channel in your Teams.<\/p>\n\n
