A major focus is learning how to accurately record and organize data to support our findings. We will also explore experimental variables, including independent, dependent, and controlled variables, to understand what makes an experiment fair and reliable.

As we build our scientific inquiry skills, we will investigate physical and chemical changes, explore the pH scale, and participate in a variety of hands-on experiments. Throughout these activities, students will be encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and use evidence to explain their discoveries!

Social Studies

In Social Studies, we are exploring Canada’s geography, people, and natural resources. Students are now completing their first research project, where they will become experts on a region and present their findings to teach the class!

Next, we will explore Canada’s natural resources, including renewable and non-renewable energy sources. Students will investigate the advantages and disadvantages of different resources, their impacts on people and the environment, and ways we can use them more sustainably. Throughout this unit, we will focus on developing research skills, considering different perspectives, and thinking critically about how our choices affect the world around us.

Art

In Art, we are exploring the elements of art, with a particular focus on colour and texture.
