We have officially started term 2!

Here you can find a quick snapshot into what we are learning in each subject. If you require further details please feel free to email me.

Language Arts:

Writing: We are moving into essays/paragraphs and are finishing up an argumentative paragraph/essay. We are going to move into story writing and speeches. Along with this, we are going to practice more of our reading strategies by doing another literacy circle.

Math: We have started fractions! In term 2 we will learn…

-Fractions

-Decimals

-Percents/ratios

Science: For term two we are going to be learning chemistry! We will be touching on mixtures & solutions, the PH scale, the scientific method, and experimenting.

 

Health: We have started our self-esteem health unit. We have defined what self-esteem looks like and what it is, and we are going to be moving into positive thinking versus negative thinking, stress and self-care, and boundaries/peer-pressure.

 

Social Studies: We are going to move into a mini mapping unit, and then sustainability and natural resources.

 

Career Ed: Students have recently completed a work ethic survey and wrote a term one goal. We are also focusing on leadership opportunities by being lunch monitors and great big buddies to our kindergarten class.

 

ADST: In term two we are going to be focusing on our digital literacy and also start coding!

 

Art: In term 2 we are going to focus on different art techniques such as mixed media, and look into famous artists.
