Hello Families,
A few updates to our current intended learning:
In science, we are beginning some experiments and research to increase our understanding of weather, its measurement, and its effects.
The students have been working on a little coding in their scratch accounts, but we are now beginning to use our time to create manuals that outline what they have or are going to be teaching the class. As we can only do several presentations a week, we are finishing our last groups over the next couple of weeks. We will likely move into creative writing and drama after this.
Our new read aloud novel “Hugo Cabret” will focus on on, between, and beyond the line’s questions, but also push students to explain better their wonders/connections to the book.
Our math units will now be graphing followed by fractions, decimals, and then measurement as we continue to gain understanding of units less than one whole number or set.
HACE will continue to build on strategies that help us regulate as well as reflecting on the strengths and challenges in our weekly learning journeys.
Although this is just a part of what we are doing, I hope it helps with the conversations with your child.
Hope you are doing well,
M. Nielsen
