Good Wednesday Morning!

v Rather than strive to be perfect, the greatest gift you can give to a young child is your time. Strong secure relationships are critical to a healthy, happy life in childhood, throughout the teenage years and into adulthood (source: Heart-Mind Online). Learn more @ www.feelingsfirst.ca.

What does being present mean to a young child?

o   Increased self-control

o   Higher levels of resiliency

o   More hopeful attitudes

o   Better mental health

o   More prosocial behaviours

o   More positive feelings about themselves

v  With this glorious sunshine, today would make the perfect day for a Teddy Bear’s picnic. It doesn’t have to be complicated (unless you want it to be) – make some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with your little one, wash some strawberries or a sliced apple, a cookie or two and fill a big bottle of water. If you feel so inclined, bring some pretty tea cups – your little one will likely drink more water with a fancy cup, a blanket and of course, a couple teddy bears to join. Set up your picnic under a shady tree and voila! A Teddy Bear’s picnic.
