Walk to the guitars, pick up your guitar, and walk to your spot.<\/p>\n<p>2. Sit crisscross.<\/p>\n<p>3. Sit up straight. Arm not leaning on leg.<\/p>\n<p>4. Place the back of your guitar against your stomach.<\/p>\n<p>5. Head of guitar facing up.<\/p>\n<p>6. Thumb on the back of neck.<\/p>\n<p>7. Base joints not touching the neck of guitar.<\/p>\n<p>How to practice a chord:<\/p>\n<p>1. Have the chord chart and song in front of you.<\/p>\n<p>2. Figure out each string at a time. Example: E major:<\/p>\n<p>Start with fingers that are placed down:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; String 5, Finger 3, Fret 2\u2026.check for clear tone, keep finger down add<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; String 4, Finger 2, Fret 2\u2026.check for clear tone, keep two fingers down<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; String 3, Finger 1, fret 1\u2026..check for clear tone, keep three fingers down<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Add string 1, 5, and 6.<\/p>\n<p>Go slow! We are working on muscle memory. \u263a\ufe0f You got this!!! \ud83d\ude01<\/p>\n<p>Reasons for not getting a clean sound:<\/p>\n<p>1. Base joints touching finger board<\/p>\n<p>2. Fingers touching strings.<\/p>\n<p>3. Not pressing down hard enough.<\/p>\n<p>4. Finger is on fret, instead of under the fret.<\/p>\n<p>5. Arm is on leg.<\/p>\n<p>6. Guitar isn\u2019t against stomach.<\/p>\n<p>7. Strumming too hard.<\/p>\n<p>8.
