You have <strong>until Friday, May 29th noon<\/strong> to play, and you can play as many times as you like to improve your score. It is not a timed game, but you do earn points for speed as well as accuracy. You can use your own name or create a musical nickname for yourself so only you know who you are! I had lots of fun playing with it myself!<\/p>\n<p>Each key (or letter) on your keyboard has a different sound (sample).<\/p>\n<p>Type different combinations of letters or words into the box to create beats. The program will automatically loop back to the beginning and repeat your pattern.<\/p>\n<p>When you find a beat you like, sing a song you know over top,<br \/>\nor better yet, write your own song!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">PRO TIP<\/span> \u2013 Most pop, rock and North American\/European<br \/>\nfolk music is in 4\/4 time so try using a multiple of 4<br \/>\n(eg. 4, 8, 12, etc.) characters to make a beat that<br \/>\nwould fit with popular music or other songs you may already know.<\/p>\n<p>See what happens when you put spaces in! Does it change the beat?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">VOCABULARY<\/span>:<br \/>\n<strong>Percussion\/percussive sounds<\/strong> \u2013 Sounds made by hitting\/striking things<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Beat<\/strong> \u2013 the steady pulse that you feel in the music<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Rhythm<\/strong> &#8211; actual sound or time value of the notes<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Sample<\/strong> &#8211; a short recording of a sound.
