Using a pencil and paper&#8230;<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Brainstorm ideas<\/strong>: what are some things that have been new or different while staying at home?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Choose 1 idea and expand upon it:<\/strong> Pick your most interesting idea and write down as many words and phrases that you can think of that are related to that idea.\u00a0 <em style=\"font-weight: inherit;\">If you can\u2019t think of very many related words or phrases, try another one of your ideas instead!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Draw four lines<\/strong>, and create an extra underlined space at the end of your 2nd and 4th lines to show where your rhyming words need to go.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-250\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/hearde\/files\/2020\/04\/lyrics-form.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Choose 1 word and find rhymes:<\/strong>\u00a0Pick one of the most important words or phrases to place in one of your rhyming spaces, then create a list of other words that rhyme.\u00a0<strong>Go through the alphabet<\/strong>\u00a0and add each letter to the start of your rhyme sound to see how many rhymes you can come up with. For example, if trying to find a rhyme for \u201cask\u201d you can try \u201cbask\u201d, \u201ccask\u201d, \u201cdask\u201d, and so on. Don\u2019t forget to try other sounds like \u201cch\u201d, \u201csh\u201d, and \u201cth\u201d. Say each rhyme-try out loud and listen to see how many\u00a0<u>real words<\/u>\u00a0you can find this way.<em style=\"font-weight: inherit;\">\u00a0If you can\u2019t find very many rhymes, try again with another starting word!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Choose the rhyme that makes the\u00a0<u>most sense<\/u>:<\/strong>\u00a0Go through all your rhymes and see what words could be used in your verse in a way that makes sense. Thinking of opposites can be useful (if you love running but can\u2019t do that much right now, maybe you could rhyme \u201c<strong><u>run<\/u><\/strong>\u201d with \u201c<u>not<strong>\u00a0fun<\/strong><\/u>\u201c.) Remember, your rhyme has to be the\u00a0<u>last sound<\/u>\u00a0at the end of lines 2 and 4.<em style=\"font-weight: inherit;\"> If none of the rhymes fit with your story, go back and try again with a different word.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fill out the rest of lines 2 and 4<\/strong>: make sure the rhyme words you have chosen make sense as the last word of each phrase. Speak it out loud to make sure it sounds right.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Complete your story with lines 1 and 3:<\/strong> These lines don\u2019t need to rhyme, so they\u2019re a good place to add other important details that didn\u2019t fit while we were trying to make lines 2 and 4 rhyme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Test your lyrics<\/strong>: sing through your verse a few times to make sure that it fits the rhythm of the song. If it feels like you\u2019re trying to squeeze in too many words, try to find a more simple way to say what you mean.
