Our Program:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Reading:\u00a0 Students will learn and practice 5 Reading strategies called “Reading Powers”: Questioning, Connecting, Inferring, Visualizing, and Transforming) that all good readers do.\u00a0 I want them to demonstrate deeper understanding and become critical thinkers.\u00a0 Short stories, novel studies, and literature circles will be utilized this year.\u00a0 I have a room full of avid readers who look forward to Silent Reading time and time to read for early finishers of work assigned.\u00a0 Please encourage your child to read a variety of reading material outside of their school work, too.\u00a0 This helps students build a greater vocabulary as well as see written language structures and literary devices (writing tools) that author’s utilize to engage their readers.<\/p>\n
