Looking for something fun to do across  the curriculum?  Play dough is a great choice!  Here is my never fail recipe:<\/span><\/h2>\n

Math (Measurement) & Science (Properties of Matter) coming up if you make it together…<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Combine dry (solids<\/strong>) ingredients in a medium pot:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1 Cup flour<\/p>\n

    1\/2 Cup salt<\/p>\n

    2 tsp. cream of tartar<\/p>\n

           2. Combine wet (liquids<\/strong>) ingredients in a liquid measuring cup:<\/p>\n

    1 Cup water<\/p>\n

    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil<\/p>\n

    Food colour of your choice<\/p>\n

           3. Combine liquids and solids in pot and stir until combined. <\/p>\n

           4. Cook over medium low heat stirring constantly until it comes away from the sides of the pot (it will make a big ball–and look like play dough!)<\/p>\n

            5. Turn out onto wax paper and knead it for a few minutes.  Let it cool–knead it again and have fun creating!<\/p>\n

    Math:<\/strong>                                             <\/p>\n

    Subtraction Smash–make play dough balls–then smash some–write a subtraction sentence to go with it…<\/p>\n

    6-2=4<\/p>\n

    Literacy:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Build a Word–choose a sight word from the word wall (see previous post)<\/a>–and build it using play dough snakes…<\/p>\n

    Build a Letter: playdough abc<\/a><\/p>\n

    Art:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Be creative!!!! <\/p>\n
