activity, feel free to email me \ud83d\ude42 Some of it is new, but I will include explanations below:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>First Activity: Number of the Day<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>The number for the day for grade two&#8217;s is: 48<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The number of the day for grade three&#8217;s is: 237<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The worksheet to do your number of the day activity is<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/watts\/files\/2019\/05\/Todays-Number-Student-Sheet.pdf\">HERE<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Examples for grade two&#8217;s:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" out the number in words, or show the number using a place value chart.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Expanded Form&#8221;:\u00a0 This means to show the full value (hundreds, tens, and ones) for each number .\u00a0 Example: 37= 30+7\u00a0 \u00a049=40+9,\u00a0 355= 300 + 50 +5, 499 = 400 + 90 + 9<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Draw it&#8221;: Show the given number in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">two<\/span> ways using coins (pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, loonies, toonies).\u00a0 So 48 cents for grade two&#8217;s, 237 cents ($2.37) for grade three&#8217;s.\u00a0 Draw the coins using circles.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Round to 10&#8221;:\u00a0 Remember, if a number ends with 0-4, you round down (ex.4<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">4<\/span> would be rounded to 40), if a number ends with 5-9, you round up (ex.4<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">7<\/span>\u00a0would be rounded to 50).\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;<\/strong>\u00a0 <strong>Round to 100&#8243;: If a number is 49 or less (in the tens and ones spot), you round down to the nearest hundred (ex. 347= 300) but if a number ends in 50 to 99 (in the tens and ones spot), you round up to the nearest hundred (ex. 378=400).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Count on 3&#8221;:\u00a0 add 3 to your number<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Count back 3&#8221;: subtract 3 from your number\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0<strong>*show your work!\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Double it&#8221;: add your number twice!\u00a0 Remember to show your regrouping!\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Next 5 even&#8221;:\u00a0 skip count and show the next 5 numbers that end in 0,2,4,6, or 8\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(ex. 48= 48,50, 52,54,56,58)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Next 5 odd&#8221;: skip count and show the next 5 numbers that end in 1,3,5,7,9<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(ex. 338=339,341,343,345,347)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>*Look at the examples above to see how to do the other ones if you need assistance \ud83d\ude42\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Second Activity:<\/strong><\/span><strong>\u00a0 If you haven&#8217;t already, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidsa-z.com\/main\/Login\">Raz Kids<\/a> and complete the assigned reading activity I have given
