Today we had a special presentation by HOJA. HOJA is a an Acappella group. They were very entertaining. We all have to write a letter to or about HOJA for homework. Click on their name to visit their website.  Many of us really enjoyed hearing their show.

The message they had for us at the end was:

1. Get Involved! Never think you can’t do something

2. Practice! Be determined; you can do anything if you are persistent.

3. Believe in yourself. Don’t let anyone stop you.

SNOW PASS information pamphlet went home today for grade 4 and 5 students.

Did you wonder what teachers do? With the help of Elaine Jaltema I led a session where teachers got to learn about smarter science, and hands on exploration for students. One group used our supplies to create what the called the psychedelic tornado.

In the afternoon I was able to hear more first hand stories of residential school experiences. These people demonstrate such sincere strength of their spirits. Very moving. This helped me to better understand how important my job is to build awareness of our shared histories.

One thing I learned was how to share thoughts, ideas, and pictures on twitter, and in the process I found lots of wonderful interesting information. Social media can be a powerful tool for learning.
