Show and Tell:

Click on link above to see a sample of Mrs. Chin doing a segment called, Show and Tell. Don’t forget on Fridays we have popcorn if you choose to do Show and Tell on Friday you can make popcorn or enjoy the show with your favourite snack / treat.  Don’t forget to share your snacks!

Choose a family member to bring one thing. Put it in a bag. Give three (written / oral) clues. Below is an example of some of the clues. (e.g. I made it. It is special to me because…,

Note: The children are encouraged to look at the audience, use a clear voice and speak in full sentences.

  1. What letter does it begin with?  It begins with the letter ___.
  2. What colour is it?  It is ____________ (red, blue, yellow, green, brown, black, white, pink, purple, orange).
  3. What do you do with it? I play with it or I read it or I sleep with it etc.

After three clues, please select a person in your family to guess what it is.  The person guessing can ask a question, “Is it a _____?”,

The Special Helper then says, “Could be, Maybe or Possibly”.  Afterwards, the person can choose someone to ask a question. The questions can vary from who, where, when, why, and how?

Final part: Audience member can give a comment or a compliment.

 

The Special Helper / Person can say “Thank you for being a good audience”

Don’t forget to have fun with it and try to encourage your child to write the clues down if they can or draw a pictrure of it.
