Please click on the picture below to see the video of how to introduce Master Chef
Before you start your presentation, you can introduce yourself by saying I like to eat____. My brother(s) / sister(s) like(s) to eat____. My mom likes to eat_____. My dad likes to eat____. My family likes to eat____. My family’s favourite restaurant is ____________.
So remember if you are the host like Mr. Hippo you need to repeat what the Chef likes to eat, mom, dad, etc.
Please click above the video link to see how you can introduce yourself for this section. Remember to take turns saying ‘full’ sentences. This is a great activity for speaking and oral language.
CHEF OF THE DAY
Dear Parents, (This a sample letter of what I would have sent out in April)
During the month of April our class will be studying nutrition and science. One part of our unit is called CHEF OF THE DAY. For this assignment, please help your child choose a simple snack that he or she could prepare in front of the class / in this case your family. This is an interesting way to introduce the different food groups as well as helping to build the children’s confidence in presenting to the class.
The attachment above “Chef of the Day Template” is a recipe sheet for your child to complete with his/her chosen recipe. On your child’s assigned day (in this case – any day during the week) they are to bring their recipe, ingredients, utensils and other “equipment” needed to make the snack in front of the class / family. He/she should bring enough for two servings (ie. Make enough to share with one friend and in this case a family member).
Some examples of simple and appropriate snacks are:
- Sandwiches
- Tortilla wraps
- Celery sticks with cheese or peanut butter
- English muffin pizza
A green, pasta, fruit or vegetable salad
BE CREATIVE and HAVE FUN!
