As we continue with our French this year, we need to know words such as A and THE.
In French, it’s a bit more complicated.
Nouns have genders –> either masculine or feminine.
The word a is un (masc.) or une (fem.)
The word the is le (masc.) or la (fem.) or les (plural, regardless of gender)
Therefore, we must research some words to know their gender before we use them in sentences.
We started by learning the numbers 16 – 31, giving us all the numbers needed to successfully tell someone today’s date.
Afterwards, we learned the months of the year.
Finally, we put all that we’ve learned together and began forming simple phrases that tell us the date.
