Reflections on World Kindness Day – Lauren, Jeyvion, and Yoyo
Here are some reflections shared:
Lauren: Kindness is when people are kind like when you give people nice things. Kind and nice are different because nice is not always being kind. Some people just pretend to be nice. Kind means you tell the truth when you really don’t like it. I can show kindness by giving my family and friends stuff and loving cards. my friend gave me snacks for my birthday and my parents gave me the things I wanted for Christmas. I have shown kindness by giving people loving cards. We celebrate World Kindness week because without kindness in the world, it would be all war so that is why we have World Kindness week all around the world.
Jeyvion: Kindness is being thoughtful and caring for others. Being nice sometimes is not being kind. Sometimes you just say stuff to make people feel good but you don’t mean it. We celebrate World Kindness day because some people are not kind. We all need to be kind. World Kindness day is important because if nobody was kind, there would only be war so we need kindness. To show kindness, I could hold the door for people, say good morning. People have said “hi” and “how was your day?” to show kindness. I have helped people with Math and writing! It made me feel good. Kindness is important.
Yoyo: Kindness is being true with your feelings and not faking it. Being nice means you can fake it but you don’t have to. Have you heard of “Wold Kindness Week?” World Kindness week is a week of kindness (hence, the name) and bringing the world together. If you want to learn how to show kindness on World Kindness week, you can make a card, put a sentence that radiates “I appreciate you” on a decorated piece of paper, say “I trust you”, et cetera, give them a hug maybe two hugs or three! If you did one of those things, did you feel happy? Yes, you are kind. No, you are cold-hearted. Which one is you?
