You can play at home with your child to practice and reinforce number concepts.<\/p>\n<p><em>Many math games we play might require: a deck of cards, set of dice, game counters, paper game board templates or mini whiteboards.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>SPEED<\/strong><\/span> (two player game)<\/li>\n<li>You will need a partner and a deck of cards<\/li>\n<li>Focus: being able to count forward and backward quickly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How to set up your <span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>SPEED<\/strong><\/span> game board:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8869\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/bassol\/files\/2025\/01\/IMG_6025-300x274.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"212\" height=\"193\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/bassol\/files\/2025\/01\/IMG_6025-300x274.jpg 300w, http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/bassol\/files\/2025\/01\/IMG_6025-768x702.jpg 768w, http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/bassol\/files\/2025\/01\/IMG_6025.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 212px) 100vw, 212px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once your game board is set up, divide the remaining deck into two piles- one for you, one for your opponent.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>middle two cards<\/em> start the game- players simultaneously flip one card over- players can begin to put cards onto either of these piles. When both players cannot put down any more cards; they each simultaneously flip over <em>one card<\/em> from their outer pile and place onto the <em>original inner pile<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>You can only hold FIVE cards in your hand at a time. practice recognizing <strong>MAKING 10<\/strong> (or tens partners) quickly.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Making 10<\/strong><\/em> is one strategy you can use when you are adding numbers quickly in your This will allow you to see your cards clearly, and to see which cards are open for you to use and which ones are locked.<\/p>\n<p>This game is really fun because you can play it anywhere.
