Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with some of our school and classroom protocols below.<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>If you arrive after 9:10am<\/strong>, please sign in at the office before heading to the classroom (Room 6- main building)<\/li>\n<li><strong>If your child is going to be absent or needs to be picked up early<\/strong>, or you are running late- <em><strong>please call the school office directly so they can inform me in a timely manner<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; please also email me if possible. Thank you!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>HOT LUNCH PROGRAM 2026\/2027:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lunch Lady: Mon, Tues, Wed, and Fridays<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><i>Special PAC hot lunches: *every Thursday<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><strong>*The deadline to order for each subsequent Thursday hot lunch will be NINE DAYS before the delivery date.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>To order PAC hot lunches, please click on the link here<strong>\u00a0&gt;<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/munchalunch.com\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Munchalunch\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul>\n<li>Mr. Dillon Brown (Mr. Dillion) is our new school counsellor. If your child has a fever, or has vomited, please keep them home to rest and recover for a minimum of 24 hours before returning to school without medicine; please do not send them to school with a dose of medicine.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your support and cooperation with this as we aim to keep everyone healthy.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Allergies, food, and birthdays in the classroom:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>We are a nut-aware school<\/strong>. We also have many students in our class with food allergies- please avoid sending in food items that contain <em><strong>nuts or peanuts- this includes Nutella.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you wish to bring in treats for your child\u2019s birthday, <em><strong>please let me know in advance and ensure items are commercially-made and nut-free<\/strong><\/em>. It would also be helpful if they are a simple treat that can be handed out quickly and with ease.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>*HEALTH &amp; SAFETY PROTOCOLS<\/strong> outline the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students are not permitted to share any food or drink items<\/li>\n<li><em style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><strong>&#8220;Leave with what you brought&#8221;<\/strong> <\/em><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">will pertain to all snack and lunch items to minimize landfill waste and traffic at trash and recycling bins. All uneaten items, wrappers and containers (incl juice boxes) need to be taken home at the end of each day.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Extra Clothing &amp; Inside Shoes (to be kept at school):<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Please ensure your child keeps a pair of <strong>extra clothes<\/strong> (including socks and underwear) and <strong>a pair of inside shoes- preferably sneakers that are easy to put on &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0at school at all times.<\/li>\n<li><strong>LABEL all items with your child&#8217;s name<\/strong> (including jackets, water bottles, and lunch bags)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Toys, personal treasures, trading cards, stuffed animals, and any digital devices (incl smart watches):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These items need to <strong>remain at home<\/strong>, as they can get lost or damaged, and can also be a source of distraction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Healthy snacks, lunches, and water bottles:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recess snacks <strong>will be eaten outside<\/strong> during morning recess- please ensure your child has a simple snack (i.e wrappers or small reusable bags that can be placed into pockets to avoid litter around play areas); kindly avoid sending elaborate snacks in large containers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Staying hydrated<\/strong> also helps to keep students focused- please ensure your child has a clean water bottle with them everyday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>We encourage students to bring in <strong>healthy, nutrient-dense snacks and lunch items<\/strong> that will provide energy throughout the day. This helps students to focus and maintain creativity and critical thinking skills. For healthier food choices and ideas, click &gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unlockfood.ca\/en\/Children.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vch.ca\/en\/supporting-healthy-eating-school\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outdoor Learning and Westcoast Recess:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At Brentwood Park, we believe it is essential that children get outside throughout the day to breathe fresh air and get their bodies moving!
