A Tribe Called Quest – 1nce Again (feat. Tammy Lucas)

This song is great, I can’t believe I haven’t heard it before. I really enjoy the opening call and response that starts at 0:07, because it plays homage to a similar chant on their classic track “Check the Rhime.” Tammy Lucas’ smooth vocals add a fresh, new R&B flavour quite different from Tribe’s earlier pieces. However, I appreciate that the core of the track is still rooted in their hip-hop beginnings.

Denise Lasalle – Trapped by a Thing Called Love

I really like the way the song goes from a kind of call and answer concept with the bass and the trumpets specifically in 0:30 and around 1:24 and then brings them together to flow so coherently.  Also the bass and the guitar with the drums carry such a steady melody that reminds me of a train and the trumpets are just the cherry on top that brings this beautiful song together.

Diana Ross and The Supremes: Reflections

This music piece is different due to the beginning having an electrical beat and having the audio going left to right, (recommended to listen with headphones). Through the song it has those tiny eerie electro beats with a very high frequency, but this song has a nice upbeat tone going. Going from a calm to a upbeat melody.

DPR IAN – Nerves

The beginning sounds really nice with the guitar. The drums after he starts singing pulls it together. At around 48 seconds the chorus slows building tension until it releases.

Absofacto – Done with Love (feat. Herizen)

The songs beat in the beginning is really chill building waiting until it releases. The voices of the singers are really nice with great tone to and compliment each other. Once in a while they add some really nice vocal slides which sounds amazing.

Mother Mother – Body

The beginning of the song sounds eerie because of the strings. When they sing take my… it sounds off putting. When they sing the chorus it pulls it all together.
