The introduction to your paragraph is the first bun, the first sentence. Here, you would write your topic sentence. What is your paragraph going to be about?  Let us write a paragraph about ourselves working/learning from home.

Example: Life is crazy because of a virus and now I am teaching from home.

Our next sentence will be our first detail. Since we are telling about ourselves at home maybe we can explain where we are working  when we are at home.

Example: I have turned my dining room into my distant classroom.

Our next sentence will be our second detail. We can  explain what we are doing or learning.

Example: I am learning how to use technology to communicate with my students, I have a new blog!

Our next detail will tell what we are using to study, learn. Have you noticed I have used some of the 5 Ws? Who? What? Where? When? Why?  These help to give me ideas for the details of the subject I am writing about.

Example: To create this blog I am using my phone, IPad and my laptop.

The final sentence is the concluding sentence, the conclusion. It sums it up, holds the sentences altogether, and wraps it up. Often times it retells the topic and may add a feeling or two.

Example: Although it is fun to learn new things I am missing my students.

When you put all five sentences together you have a paragraph:

Life is crazy because of a virus and now I am teaching from home. I have turned my dining room into my long distance classroom. I am learning how to use technology to communicate with my students, I have a new blog! To create this blog I am using my IPhone 5, my IPad and my laptop.  Although it is fun learn new things I am missing my students!
