One good way is through stories. There are many out there but I wanted to share this book written specifically to address the Coronavirus. I think there are many great details in this book that can be starting places for conversations with children. There are tools for soothing emotional reactions, generating short and long-term well-being, staying focused and hopeful, and keeping kids entertained. These videos were created by Dr. Hayley Watson, a leading clinical psychologist with 15 years\u2019 experience working with children and families, and the founder of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.openparachute.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Open Parachute<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 an online mental health curriculum program that is being used in schools globally.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\">\n<li>\n<ol start=\"1\" type=\"a\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">COVID-19 Well-being Tips for Parents<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">COVID-19 Well-being Tips for Teens (Ages 13-18)<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">COVID-19 Well-being Tips for Tweens (Ages 8-12)<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">COVID-19 Well-being Tips for Kids (Ages 4-7)<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">COVID-19 Well-being Tips for Educators \u2013 COMING SOON<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>April 13th, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just like many of us, our kids may be experiencing some anxious feelings about the health crisis we are all experiencing. They may also, like us, have many questions. How to speak to them about this in a supportive way is a challenge. I am including a short video from Lisa Dion, a highly respected therapist.
